MORADO
Brian Paul Morado, a visionary artist raised in Bricktown of Queens, NY. Morado like his lifestyle brought forth an artistic odyssey that displays both whimsical and sophistication. Born in the early '90s, Morado's artistic inclination sprouted at the age of 7, blossoming from painting on sneakers to clothes, graduating to sculpting at the age of 15, and eventually, canvas painting at beginning of his young adulthood.
Facing the challenge of gaining recognition in the competitive art scene of New York, Morado embarked on a global exploration, discovering an unexpected appreciation for his work in Australia. Intrigued by this international recognition, Morado orchestrated an art campaign to fund his journey to Australia, where he uncovered an open market for his whimsical creations. It was during this time that Morado unveiled his artistic alter ego, "Mr. Morado, the Purple elephant," a manifestation of his vibrant personality within his art.
The success of his Australian venture led to his first solo show, the Year of the Circus, a transformative experience that fueled Morado's self-belief and ambition. His return to the United States brought him to the bustling art scene of Los Angeles, where he expanded his repertoire with projects ranging from oversized canvases to wall murals and installations, all while revisiting his roots in custom apparel work. It was in Los Angeles where Morado developed an interest for mythology and interior design. His approach has been to achieve a minimalist aesthetic yet timeless technique that can place his work next to the greats.
Morado’s acrylic work from first glance can be viewed as vivid, whimsical and bold. His pastel works can be interpreted as fierce, minimalist and unorthodox while his clay work gives a very classical feel yet modern touch to taste and color. Morado primary artist influences influence include, Pablo Picasso, RAF Simon and Constantin Brausci.
